How to use insulin injection pen

There are two kinds of insulin pens commonly used in clinic:

    1. Pre filled insulin pen, that is, the liquid medicine and insulin are connected together. It is a disposable insulin pen. After the liquid medicine is used up, the whole pen can be directly discarded.

    2. An insulin pen that can replace insulin syrup. After the insulin is used up, the empty insulin refill can be discarded and replaced with a new insulin refill. Before installation, carefully check whether the refill is intact, whether there are cracks, and whether the color and properties of the liquid medicine in the refill are abnormal. After confirmation, twist the refill holder to install the refill, disinfect the rubber at the front end with 75% alcohol, take out the insulin needle, open the package, tighten the needle clockwise, and then conduct the exhaust operation. You can exhaust the dose adjustment button by rotating 2-6 units. When insulin overflows from the needle, It means that the driving rod has completely contacted the refill and the bubbles in the refill have been completely discharged. At this time, insulin injection can be started. When injecting insulin, disinfect the injection site first, and then enter the needle vertically. After injection, the needle needs to stay in the skin for 10 seconds before pulling it out.
