About the FSH Injection Pen

2025-01-21 10:19:18 Back to list

Applicable Population:

1. Fertile but persistent anovulation or sporadic ovulation, commonly seen in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome,

2. unresponsive to clomiphene (CC), resistant to CC,

3. Severe deficiencies of FSH and LH, especially LH levels below 1.2 IU/L.

4. In vitro fertilization-embryo transfer assisted reproductive technology or other derived technology is required.

Preparation before use:

1. First, before touching the pre-filled injection pen, wash your hands and make sure they are clean as well as all items.

2. Then find a clean place and remove the items to be used, e.g., pre-filled injection pen, 1 needle and 2 alcohol cotton balls.

Processes used:

Install the needle: After removing the pre-filled injection pen, remove the cap first, then tear off the sealing piece on the outer pillow cap, then embed the screw end of the pre-filled injection pen and the outer needle cap, then rotate the pre-filled injection pen (clockwise), install the needle firmly and remove the outer needle cap.

Notes:

One thing you must do the first time you use a pre-filled injection pen: eliminate air bubbles. The method is as follows:

Turn the Dose Setting Knob clockwise so that the reading in the Dose Display Window is aligned with the marking of 25 with the dot on the front, remove the inner needle cap, hold the Prefilled Injection Pen so that the needle is facing upwards, gently ammo the cartridge retainer with your fingers to bring all air bubbles up to the end of the needle, then press the Dose Setting Knob fully, if a small amount of fluid comes out of the tip of the needle it means that the Prefilled Injection Pen is ready for injection.

If you do not see liquid coming out, you need to repeat the procedure once until a droplet appears at the tip of the needle, up to a maximum of 2 adjustments.

Set the dose:

Turn the Dose Setting Knob to the Dose Display to show the single injection dose prescribed by your physician. If the dose prescribed by the physician is exceeded or not reached, the dose setting knob can simply be turned back to the correct dose, and the adjusted dose will need to be checked before proceeding to the next step.

Notes:

The dose setting knob cannot be pushed or pulled while rotating.

Start injecting:

Follow your doctor's instructions to choose the appropriate injection site (the area 3 fingers away from the navel), and to avoid overstimulation of the skin to form hard lumps, you should choose a different site each day for the injection, such as the left side of the navel, the right side, or the lower side.

Before injection, wipe the injection site with an alcohol cotton ball, next slowly push the needle into the skin; again, press the dose setting knob as fast as possible, make sure to keep the injection needle immobile for at least 10s during the injection with the dose setting knob pressed down, after the 10s clock, keep pressing the dose setting knob until the needle is pulled out of the skin, and then press it with an alcohol cotton ball again.

Notes:

It must be ensured that the number of doses on the dose display window returns to 0. Only a display of 0 indicates that the dose injection is complete. If the number displayed on the dose display window is > 0, it means that the drug in the pre-filled injection pen has been used up in the current injection and that the actual current dose injected is less than the pre-set amount of drug administered.

In the event that such a situation arises, it may be dealt with as follows:

The number shown on the dose display window is the amount of additional injection needed to complete this administration; use another new prefilled injection pen and follow the administration procedure to complete the missing dose.

Post Injection:

The needle should be removed and discarded after each injection, hold the cartridge retainer portion of the prefilled injection pen firmly, carefully cap the outer needle cap, then squeeze the outer needle cap tightly and loosen the needle in a counterclockwise direction, be careful of being pricked by the needle, dispose of the used needle properly, cap the prefilled injection pen, and prohibit reuse or sharing of needles.

Notes:

Please remove used needles before capping the prefilled injection pens. Prefilled injection pens should be stored in a safe place, preferably in their original box, and when the medication in a prefilled injection pen has been used up, the empty pens should not be disposed of via wastewater or food waste, and the pharmacist should be consulted on how to dispose of them.

Preservation Methods:

Scenario 1: Not turned on

When unopened, it needs to be stored away from light and at a temperature between 2-8°C.

Scenario 2: Opened

For those that have been opened, they must be stored at or below 25°C for the period of validity, and the storage time must not exceed 28 days, taking care not to discard them at will.

Vigilance Zone:

1. You cannot buy other people's leftover medicines to inject yourself, and you need to replace the needle with a new one every time you inject, because the syringe has a negative pressure, and there may be the phenomenon that body fluids will flow into the storage cylinder, so naturally, you cannot avoid the phenomenon that other people's germs will be brought into the body.

2. Do not freeze to save, but refrigerated, a word difference can be a thousand miles, do not be stupid to put the injection pen into the freezer to freeze to save, directly frozen into the ice how to inject?

3. Keep the injection time consistent every day, do not miss or give more injections, or even change the medication without authorization.

4. If you miss a dose, do not use a double dose to make up for it; contact your doctor promptly.

A little TIPS about this injection pen:

If the pen is stored in the refrigerator, it should be left at room temperature for a few minutes after removal to bring the temperature of the solution to room temperature. Carefully inspect the pre-filled pen and the solution, which should be discarded if it is not to be used for more than 28 days after first opening.
